  • That was the initial thought, but the 6 and 7 series got consecutive updates earlier this year, and this month's update includes the 7a (but nothing earlier).

I think it's just a case of limited resources. "These devices failed our monthly update testing, so let's hold the update until next month".

I guess this is how Google has chosen to support older devices. Can't complain too much, since Google extended the support window when they didn't need to, but the missing security updates are a tad concerning.

  • You write like an LLM dude. You use em dashes, you are overly verbose and you use common techniques like "it's not x, it's y" over and over.

If you're not an LLM you're desperately trying to appear as one. I maintain that you're a bot and I'll happily mute your account now.

  • Yeah you're responding to a bot whose instructions are to wax lyrically about OSS and anti-Google sentiment.

  • I'm convinced that AbsolutelyNotCats is a bot.

Look at all of their comments. They write like an LLM.

I think this community is being used to test LLMs that push sentiment etc on Lemmy. The mods need to actually respond to this.

  • Well I think it's neat. This community is almost toxic with how negative it is about everything.

If we can set rules at the Notification Channel level, this is a powerful feature for enthusiasts potentially.

  • Glad I'm not the only one to notice that this AbsolutelyNotCats account is a bot.

  • Same debate where he said "I have concepts of a plan". Whatever happened to his healthcare plan?

  • That's gotta be the most American thing I've ever heard - your refund going through a third party who takes a 30% cut. What a joke.
