  • "It used to be that … you might go to jail, and now you might get shot! So it makes us need to be a lot more brave," she said. "I hope I would be brave, but I can't promise that I would be able to. But definitely, it's time to move beyond 'I won't do anything that has any risk whatsoever.'"

There's a very narrow window in America where the worst you had to worry about was being sent to jail for protesting for equal rights...

It's the abnormality, not the norm that it's "safe". And that's over now.

Like, when the current president was in college, they were killing people for it

And he has dementia, so as far as he's concerned the world is exactly the same as when he was in his 20s, so that's how he's acting.

  • ICE the staff was afraid, and that made them an easy target...

  • But the moniker didn’t stick after Ellison was informed that the name spelled something deeply embarrassing when reversed: “I’m a Nazi.”

It’s the kind of joke the “Succession” writers’ room could only dream of coming up with. And it’s especially awkward given the family’s strong ties to Israel. His first wife described Ellison as “an ardent Zionist,” per Vulture, and he’s been known to be “close” with current prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

    Sounds pretty accurate...

Support a genocidal ethnostate long enough, your subconscious stops trying to be subtle

  • People will be allowed to dress up as a zookeeper and “experience a program that mimics actual animal care work, such as preparing meals, observing behavior, filling out daily reports and checking the safety of the exercise area,” the park said, per the outlet.

The 90-minute session also allows visitors to feed caged zookeepers, who are dressed up as pandas, with apple pieces.

“This special attraction will allow visitors to learn about the relationship between pandas and care staff … and experience the significance of passing on the lives of giant pandas to the future,” the park continued, per The Times.

    Actually kinda cool

  • Maybe you need

I don't need to do shit, if I had to explain myself to everyone who couldn't understand what I mean, that's all I'd ever do

If you had asked me politely to clarify, I almost definitely would have. But not like this

  • Nope.

If they're going to do it to someone, it might as well be one of the people who let this happen thru inaction and refuses to fight back.

It would be much worse if he was going after people actually trying to fight back.

  • The NRA used to argue against CCW and AR ownership, shit, even the inventer Euegen Stoner never understood why a random civilian would want one...

It changed in the 70s when essentially a coup backed by lobbyists from gun manufacters happened. That's when it went from a hunting/conservation club to the rapid "pry it from my cold dead hands" modern NRA.

In 2026 there's a very good reason for CCW and AR ownership, but if we fix society so we're not under threat of fascists, that changes.

  • I'm kind of alright with this...

Pelosi is a piece of shit and a huge problem not just for the country but the Dem party.

Being the first people to go down to show everyone else how undeniably serious this shit is, is pretty much the only way old guard neolibs are gonna be useful.

They won't fight, and they block people who would from holding their positions. So there's no benefit from them staying in office.

Maybe Pelosi being run thru a kangaroo court will make the rest of them finally realize how serious this shit is. Even if they still won't fight, they might resign and flee the country, again opening up their positions to people willing to fight.

  • Maybe someone should teach them...

One of the greatest dangers to a society is people assuming anything is innate or the next generation will magically know shit.

Nobody taught these kids how to read a clock. So they don't know how to read a clock.

This is a very minor thing, but it's an easier concept to grasp than the abstract concept of empathy we also stopped teaching kids.

  • Almost like it's too complicated to be solved on the street during random stops...

    Side note:

Next round of IDs can we stop putting addresses on there?

If a cop needs to know your address, they can view that when scanning it. It doesn't need to be printed on there for anybody to see. And most people rent and don't update anyways.

Even DOB too, just have a pass/fail for 21. No one needs your exact date of birth.

It's crazy we put all that info on there.

  • Well, you might not understand it, but you learned how to repeat it at least

    We'll call it a win I guess.

  • Getting rid of pests was the problem, and it was a real one...

Killing all the sparrows was a legitimate attempt to help that backfired.

Overpopulation was and still is a problem.

One child would have theoretically been managed, but ignored how people act individually and the desire to have a son. An honest and legitimate attempt to mitigate a real problem backfired.

I feel it's an apt comparison, even if I didn't explain enough at first

  • The one child policy really gonna be up there with killing all the sparrows long term...

It was in place 45 years and only gone a decade.

You can't just flip a cultural switch and expect them to become bunnies overnight. And that's not even getting into the economic part.

    Kids are fucking expensive.

When workers aren't paid well, people stop having kids. That shrinks labor supply in a generation, workers can command enough pay to have kids, and population will stabilize.

The wealthy hate populations dropping, because they have the luxury to plan ahead and know eventually it leads to more powerful workers.

It's why it's a constant boogeyman and reproduction has been prioritized thru virtually all of recorded human history.

  • According to the FBI affidavit, the HSI agents walked up to the Jeep, displayed their badges, identified themselves as law enforcement officers and told Bamigboye that they wanted to talk about his immigration status.

I doubt this is the one time they calmly walked up and identified themselves...

The victims probably thought it was a carjacking, and that's why they drove to a cop shop.

  • I was actually a participant in a study like this, literally decades ago tho.

We did exercises on a giant vibrating pad, like a flat sybian.

It just barely qualified as a quantifiable difference, and I always suspected it was due to micromotions to stabilize. Like how we shiver to burn energy to generate heat.

Like, whatever you were doing, you could just do another rep and that wipes out the gains of the fancy equipment. But then people won't buy the fancy equipment.

Bikers will blow money on negligible gains all day

  • I saw a video where he "introduced" someone to the FIFA president...

Trump was talking to them and said "you want to meet the president of soccer?" And before they can answer he yells at this jabroni to come over, never looks in his direction again, rambles a little about how impressive he is, and then just wanders off.

  • Why do people feel the need to do that to themselves?

None of us are in her orbit, she does not interact with an average person.

All the women in her circles look like that, and we all (to varying extents) want to look like the people around us. You don't even realize it, but it's a thing.

Now, what makes high level cosmetic surgery so bad, is that it is insanely expensive and done by world class surgeons. So rich women started out doing things that made them conventionally more attractive in subtle ways.

Poor people want to be like wealthy people. So they got the same surgeries done at a lower quality.

But older wealthy people want to look like current younger people they see. And for Hollywood that means young women who couldn't afford good cosmetic surgery but felt they had to get it and didn't want for their faces to finish growing first.

What were flaws then become intentional, and since it's easier and still being done by the literal world's best, the result comes out almost identical regardless of the face that went in.

We've went thru that cycle a couple times. But there's no signs it's stopping, shits gonna be real weird in a nother couple decades.

  • You start with the result you want and work backwards:

    C. Everything Biden did should be undone.

    B. Biden did something frequently

    A. Say any use of innocuous thing is invalidated

You see it a lot online, when people say X is true because of Y. But if they admit Y is flawed, that doesn't change their mind about X. They'll just invent a new reason.

  • You say Cloaca and it's one of those words everyone's heard but don't really understand...

    Combination but vagina

    Really gets the point across
