  • If the GN tests accurately map to whatever the navy's using, the difference in most games isn't that significant despite the suboptimal cooling, and if they're usually just playing TF2 and Halo 2 (as per article) then even 50% of full performance should still be plenty.

  • last-generation Alienware (Dell) machines

It might be a case of military procurement delay ¯\_(ツ)_

  • Well, yes

The MoD sees embracing gamer culture as a way of attracting and retaining young people, particularly for roles in cyber defence and technology-focused positions. The UK government launched a recruitment plan this year to fast-track gamers into cyber defence roles.

  • Sorry, I forgot this was a thing with Wired articles (I don't read regularly enough for it to usually be a problem) - I'll add an archive link to the OP

  • ChatGPT'd UNO was not on my bingo card

  • There does seem to be an at least western-media-reportable level of known-prior-cannibalism amongst the current forces: https://www.bbc.com/audio/play/p0gvsjgz [it's audio only, sorry - first reputable source I could find]

Whether they knew for the specific person in the current report or not, no idea

  • Weird kink, but we support you xo

  • Orgasms for peace

  • Even the video footage would fit right in as B-roll in an Onion video, completely absurd that the chase lasted an hour like that lol

  • This section shall be known and may be cited as the "Contraception Begins at Erection Act."

OP has been mislead by Big Ejaculation /s

  • A more onion-y title would be something like "Conservative commentator quotes Marx, calls for mass protests and strikes".

The actual title is more just !ironicorsurprisingnews than !nottheonion material imo

    Edit: You've editorialized the title?

    Posts must be:

    1. Links to news stories from...
    2. ...credible sources, with...
    3. ...their original headlines, that...
    4. ...would make people who see the headline think, “That has got to be a story from The Onion, America’s Finest News Source.”

Unless it was changed post-publication, the original is

Conservative NYT Columnist David Brooks Calls for ‘National Civic Uprising’ to Defeat Trumpism – Complete With ‘Mass Rallies, Strikes’

Imo that's actually more onion-y than the changed title

  • I do sometimes worry about how posting the joke-y stuff can distract from the important stuff, but I guess there's also value in being able to have a laugh

  • Idk man, it doesn't seem absurd enough to make me think The Onion would post this specific headline - the "tremendous progress" is a good start but the rest of it is too mundane

  • Yes, that's one of the third party tools mentioned in the article

  • Well I linked to an article from the Australian national broadcaster, so that tracks :P
